• The K-File cross section is square from 006 to 040 and triangular from 045 onwards.
• K-Files are used for penetration and enlargement of the canal.

• The K-Reamers cross section is square from 008 to 040 and triangular from 045 onwards.
• K-Reamers are used for enlargement of the canal.

• The Hedstroem cross section is cylindrical.
• Hedstroem files are highly efficient at removing dentine when used in a filing motion.
