A Better Bonding Experience.
Most traditional cements rely on mechanical retention. A machined post is basically flat, making it difficult for the luting agent to bond to it. But Pro-Post forges a stronger bond between the post and dentinal wall because the post is uniquely acid etched.
The acid-etched post is textured with deep grooves and ridges, creating more actual surface area to be bonded, while decreasing the amount of stress placed on the tooth structure.
With Pro-Post, the build-up process may be completed immediately following insertion of the post. Plus Pro-Post's exposed top is also acid etched, allowing the build-up to bond to the cylinder rings and providing additional mechanical retention.
Even more, the Pro-Post drill features an eccentric tip that stays centered as it moves through the canal, forming a precise post hole diameter. So you have an optimal post space for placing a post. The Pro-Post drill is extremely efficient for creating post space in canals obturated with Thermafil® Plus plastic obturators.
